3. Student Visa
A Vietnam student visa is for those attending a university course in Vietnam. Usually, this type of visa is arranged after arrival. You can enter Vietnam with a tourist visa and then change your visa status at the Immigration Office after enrolling in your course. The easiest way to obtain this visa is to use an agency.
4. Working Visa
A Vietnam working visa is issued to foreigners coming to work in Vietnam, such as teaching. It is categorized into:
- LD1: For foreigners working in Vietnam with a work permit exemption certificate, unless otherwise provided for in international treaties to which Vietnam is a member.
- LD2: For foreigners who must have a work permit to work in Vietnam.
This visa is valid for up to 2 years. If you wish to stay longer, you need to apply for an LD temporary residence card, which is also valid for up to 2 years.
How to Get a Vietnam Work Visa
To obtain a work visa for Vietnam, follow these steps:
– Request an LD Visa Approval Letter: Ask the company in Vietnam where you will be working to apply for an LD visa approval letter from the Vietnam Immigration Department.
– Get Your Visa Stamped: Once you have the approval letter, you can get your visa stamped either at a Vietnamese embassy or consulate in your country or at the port of entry when you arrive in Vietnam, depending on the type of approval letter you have received.
NOTE
– The most important document for a Vietnam work visa application is a work permit or a work-permit-free written confirmation. If you don’t have either, apply for a business visa first with the company you will work for. After obtaining your work permit, you can easily apply for a work visa.
– Usually, the application for a Vietnam work visa does not require a criminal record or health check.
